You want to ensure that your battery has the proper cold-cranking amperage to handle the winter months. Be sure to test the battery and inspect the casing for any signs of corrosion.

Check Your Tires

Roads can be slick during the winter. Check the tread level on each tire. Also, you may want to consider switching over to winter tires if you will be driving often or if you intend to go on a road trip.

Check Vehicle Wiper Blades

Ensure that you can easily clean your windshield when it snows or rains. Inspect your wiper blades for any signs of excessive wear, such as peeling rubber. We offer Volkswagen OEM wiper blades at our parts center.

Inspect the Brakes and Brake Lights

Check to see if your brakes are in proper condition. Check the stopping power on the road and listen for any grinding sounds. Also, check to see if the brake lights are working on the back of your vehicle.

Have a Roadside Safety Kit

Just in case you get stuck on the side of the road, have a roadside safety kit ready. The kit should include bandages and flares, a flashlight, and emergency towing or contact information.

Change Washer Fluid to Winter Blend

Make sure that your washer fluid doesn’t freeze in cold weather. Change your washer fluid over to a winter blend as soon as possible.

HVAC Inspection

Stay nice and warm during the freezing winter months. Be sure to inspect the vehicle’s heater, defroster, seat warmers, and steering wheel warmers. We can perform a complete HVAC inspection at our service center.

Check/Replace Engine Antifreeze

You want to ensure that your vehicle’s engine doesn’t freeze up at the worst possible time. Check your antifreeze level and ensure that you have enough to last the winter months.
