When to Replace Windshield Wipers?

Generally, the windshield wiper blades do not last more than 6-12 months, depending on driving conditions and the quality of wiper blades. If you have been using cheap aftermarket wiper blades, you can expect frequent replacement service. Watch out for signs of skipping of the wiper blades, blurry spots, streaks or film on the windshield, or clattering or squeaking noise when using the wiper blades. These are the most common signs of wiper blades that have worn out rubber, a bent frame, or other issues. The most vulnerable component of the wiper blades is the rubber which can suffer from oxidation resulting in stiff or brittle rubber that can easily crack.
